

Gary Milavetz, PharmD, RPh is a Professor of Pharmacy in the Division of Applied Clinical Sciences in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and he serves as the Executive Associate Dean of the college. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Minnesota and completed a Post-Doctoral clinical pharmacy research fellowship at the University of Iowa. His research applies the principles and tools of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics to improve therapeutic outcomes while reducing the untoward effects of medications on people. He has authored numerous original research, review, opinion publications and book chapters. His most recent research is in understanding driver impairment by drugs at the National Advanced Driving Simulator on the University of Iowa campus. He is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Pharmacists Association. He serves on the Scientific Program Committee of the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine.
